To search for the app, when viewing the home screen on your iphone:
Save image icon on iphone missing. Reset the home screen layout on iphone. Touch and hold the image that you wish to save for about 2 seconds until a menu appears. You can zoom in or out.
Now obviously this reduces the functionality of the device as a phone somewhat! Tap and hold the image you want to save. If you’re still missing photos on your iphone after turning on icloud photo library, quickly make sure that you’re logged into the correct apple id.

Save the ones you like. Save photos to a path. I just closed all the apps and did a hard reboot then everything was fine.
Now the icons on your home screen will be reset to their default spots. Turns out there’s an easy fix though: Select “reset home screen layout“.
Check your apps folders and see if it’s hidden there. This terrible thing is a problem that sometimes happens following an upgrade to your iphone or ipad. In prior versions of ios , saving a message was a matter of tapping on the share sheet and then choosing the obvious “save image” button.
